As of July 1, 2016, boaters can’t anchor overnight in heart lake, Sunset Lake or between Rivo Alto Island and Di Lido isle, San Marino Island and San Marco Island, and San Marco isle and Biscayne area. It’s left a lot of cruisers scrambling for areas to supply or just sleep before proceeding to guidelines east. The region has, however, some anchorages and marinas well worth shopping.
Lake Sylvia in Fort Lauderdale was a peaceful cove south of Bahia Mar. From Port Everglades route, follow the ICW north to G13. Proceed towards the Bahia Mar, then go south hugging the east seawall, keeping no more than 50 foot off route depths of 6 7 feet.
